The Gu Lab — Macromolecular Biomimicry
We are a young research team based out of Rutgers University-New Brunswick in the “Garden State” New Jersey. Working at the interface of synthetic polymers and biomacromolecules including nucleic acids and proteins, we aim to apply a unified view on molecules—of any forms—that have macromolecular origins. We are fundamentally interested in designing and synthesizing macromolecular systems/materials that possess life-like features—an approach that we termed as macromolecular biomimicry. We hope our research will ultimately bring new insights to solving challenges associated with biotechnology, healthcare, sustainability, and autonomous materials.
